Therapy & Supervision
I offer individual therapy for those seeking support in exploring their story and way of being in the world. Currently I am working with teens and adults in person in my office in Tacoma and virtually in Washington state.
I see therapy as a returning: A return to one’s desires, body, emotions, stories, and ultimately the goodness that exists in each of us. Oftentimes that returning is not a direct or a pain-free journey. It will certainly require courage as we move beyond the surface and give space to our fragmented, messy selves. It may require compassion as we see the harmful patterns and ways of coping we’ve learned along the way. It likely will be uncomfortable as we face the debris left behind from past wounds and trauma. But you can return to a place where the different parts of yourself can be seen and known and interact more freely.
I believe deeply in what can happen when a client courageously enters the therapeutic relationship. While much harm is done in relationships, I also believe they can be the space of much healing. I strive to forge a relationship with my clients where a sense of both freedom and holding is experienced— therapy is intended to be free from judgement and safe from harm.
Trauma has a way of taking the “there and then” into the “here and now”, and therapy can be a space to pause, grieve, notice, and experience healing. My work is somatic— noticing the emotions and sensations in the body— as well as narrative— recognizing how stories from the past interact with our stories today. I practice from a relational, psychodynamic approach, with a strong emphasis on attachment and family systems. I welcome clients of all races, ages, sexualities, religions, gender identities, backgrounds, and sizes.

Supervision:
I offer individual or dyadic supervision to LMHCAs in the state of Washington or those working towards a WA license. I enjoy the process supervising clinicians as they work towards developing their therapeutic mind and creating a sustainable practice.
I use psychodynamic and relational models to both think about clients with you as well as connect to what happens for you as the therapist in session. I can provide supervision for those working at community clinics as well as in private or group practice settings.
